KEY DATES FOR 2025

• Registration & Donuts – May 17th, 9:30-11:30 AM
• Practices and Tryouts Start -- May 27th
• Ice Cream Social – May 30th after practices
• Time Trials -- June 7th
• First A Meet -- June 14th
• AM Practices Start -- June 16th
• First B Meet -- June 18th
• Superstars Meet – July 16th
• Divisionals and Banquet -- July 19th

PRACTICE TIME CHANGE

Based on parent feedback, we've adjusted practice times to better accommodate families needing to return to the office:

• Ages 11-17: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
• Ages 8 & Under: 5:00 PM - 5:45 PM
• Preteam: 5:45 PM - 6:15 PM
• Ages 9-10 (11-12 may also attend): 6:15 PM - 7:00 PM

‘Donut’ Miss the Kingfish Swim Team Q&A!

Date: Saturday, May 17th

Time: 9:30 - 11:30 AM

Location: Kentlands Clubhouse

Grab some coffee and donuts while getting all the information you need about the Kingfish Swim Team! This is a great opportunity to:

• Meet the coach
• Learn about the differences between Little Kingfish, Pre-Team and Team
• Learn how to fulfill your volunteer hours
• Get help with online registration, if needed
• See the season suit and get ordering details
• Chat with experienced swim team parents and volunteers

KENTLANDS FACILITIES PASSES

Who Needs a Pass?

• All swimmers (regardless of age) must have their own personalized Kentlands Facilities Pass (EFP).
• All parents must have an EFP to access the pool deck.

Types of Passes:

• Swimmers Under 12: Must have a non-scannable pass displaying their name and the Kingfish logo. They cannot enter without this pass.
• Swimmers 12 and Older: Must have a scannable pass to enter the pool deck.

Already Have an EFP?

• If you already have an EFP, there’s no need to get another unless it’s lost.
• Replacement passes are available for a $30 fee (cash, credit card, or Apple Pay).

How to Obtain an EFP:

• Schedule an Appointment: Call the Clubhouse at 301-948-2071.
• Available Times: Monday-Friday, 9:15 AM - 4:15 PM.
• Appointment: Come to the Clubhouse for a brief appointment to take your photo and receive your EFP.

Waivers:

• Kentlands Waivers are required for all swimmers, parents, and guests.
• If a waiver is already on file, you don’t need to submit another.

Kingfish Registration:

Registration will open on 5/1 via the Kingfish Swimtopia site (more info coming soon)

Once you've registered, you will be eligible to schedule a try-out date via a sign-up sheet that will be emailed to all newly registered parents in early May.

Kingfish Try-outs:

Try-out slots will be available starting Tuesday, May 27th and will run through the week. The team offers three levels of programming for swimmers aged 3-18, and tryouts will help determine the best placement for your child.

Who Needs to Try Out?

• All new swimmers
• Current swimmers moving up a level

BANQUET AND GRADUATION COMMITTEE VOLUNTEER ROLES AVAILABLE

Planning for our end-of-season graduation celebration and banquet starts soon! We need volunteers to help coordinate – this is a great way to get involved and help the team without a huge commitment. If you love to plan events, please consider volunteering your time!

VOLUNTEER NEEDED FOR B AUTOMATION SHADOW

We’re looking for a tech-savvy volunteer to shadow Susan Lau and help with B meet automation. This role supports the team behind the scenes by organizing meet events, recording swim times, and generating ribbon labels. It’s a great fit for someone who’s detail-oriented and comfortable using a computer—and it counts toward your volunteer hours for the season!

UPCOMING BOARD MEETING DATES

The Kingfish Board and Key Volunteers meet on a monthly basis, usually the second Monday of every month. All current members of the Kingfish team are invited and encouraged to attend.

Board meetings dates have all been entered into Swimtopia, and are held from 7-9pm at the Clubhouse. Upcoming dates: 5/5/25, 6/2/25, 6/16/25, 6/30/25, 7/14/25
