Practice
Practice starts on the Tuesday after Memorial Day.
When MCPS is in session, there are only afternoon practices Monday through Friday.
When the MCPS school year has ended: Morning practice starts the first morning after the last day of school. Once we have two scheduled practices per day your swimmer may attend one or both practices. There is no afternoon practice on Fridays. The team pep rally replaces Friday afternoon practice to rally the team ahead of the Saturday A meet. There is also no Wednesday afternoon practice when B meets begin.
Inclement Weather Policy
Practices and meets are subject to weather conditions. According to Montgomery County regulations, no swimmers are allowed on deck or in the pool for 30 minutes after the sound of thunder. Decisions to delay or cancel practice are sometimes unavoidably last-minute. If weather appears to be or is forecasted to be stormy, be sure to check your Swimtopia app notifications or your emails before your swimmer heads to practice.
