Held in the lap pool, tryouts are essential for determining the appropriate level for each swimmer, ensuring their safety and comfort in the water.
- If your swimmer is new to Kingfish, they must try out for our program even if they are a strong swimmer.
- If your swimmer is interested in moving up to Pre-Team or Team from the previous season, they must attend a tryout.

Our Head Coach and Assistant Head Coach will determine the appropriate level for your swimmer. Placement is based on safety, swimming ability, independence in the water, and ability to follow instructions. Swimmers in Pre-Team and Team must be able to safely share a lane and participate in structured group instruction.

You can pay your registration fees after tryouts if you are not sure which program is appropriate for your swimmer. Please bring a check to the tryouts payable to "Kentlands Swim Team".

Have your swimmer spend time in the water over Memorial Day weekend. The pool can be quite cold π₯Ά, and the lap pool may feel deep for younger swimmers.
